About Us

Drogheda Tidy Towns was set up by local volunteers in 2007 to make Drogheda a better place to live, work, and visit. From the very beginning, our aim has been to create a cleaner, greener, and more welcoming town, encouraging pride in our community and working together to protect and enhance Drogheda for everyone.

Drogheda Tidy Towns remains steadfast in its commitment to protecting the Boyne River in any way possible, such as the Annual Boyne Clean-Up, undertook a biodiversity study of the Boyne Estuary, from which we produced a book and erected interpretative signage.

Great work at creating a lovely new planted entrance to Marian Park! A huge well done to Benny Smith, who persevered until his vision for how this entrance area should look was fully realised. The result speaks for itself, a beautifully planted, welcoming space for all to enjoy. 🌿 Another great event at Ballsgrove Gate! Week two of the Adopt a Gate programme was a great success, with everyone coming together to help care for this historic entrance.A huge well done to the young people from The Cable Project and New Choices, the Community Garda, volunteers, and everyone who came along to lend a hand. Clearing weeds, litter-picking, sweeping, and tidying the area around Ballsgrove Gate is already making a real and noticeable difference. 👏It's wonderful to see this six-week community initiative continue to grow.
