About Us

Drogheda Tidy Towns was set up by local volunteers in 2007 to make Drogheda a better place to live, work, and visit. From the very beginning, our aim has been to create a cleaner, greener, and more welcoming town, encouraging pride in our community and working together to protect and enhance Drogheda for everyone.

In 2022, Drogheda Tidy Towns set out on an ambitious journey to create something truly special for our community. That year, we formed a dedicated subgroup to drive this vision forward.

Drogheda Tidy Towns remains steadfast in its commitment to protecting the Boyne River in any way possible, such as the Annual Boyne Clean-Up, undertook a biodiversity study of the Boyne Estuary, from which we produced a book and erected interpretative signage.

Drogheda Tidy Towns are delighted to support the new Adopt a Gate initiative at Ballsgrove Gate, organised by @Louth Local Development in partnership with @Foróige.The six‑week programme brings together young people from The Cable Project and New Choices, who will help refresh and enhance the historic Ballsgrove Gate with support from historian Brendan Matthews, the Men’s Shed, and our own Tidy Towns volunteers. It’s a great community effort that blends heritage, creativity and local pride — and we’re proud to be involved.#LouthLocalDevelopment #droghedatidytowns #foroige #drogheda #adoptagate #droghedamensshed #thecableproject #NewChoices ... We had a fantastic team of around 20 volunteers who came along this evening to help with our Southgate Roundabouts & Approach Roads Community Clean-Up.Thanks to all your hard work, enthusiasm, and community spirit, we successfully removed the overgrowth on the roundabouts as well as clearing kerb and path weeds and litter in the area. The transformation has been amazing, and the area is now looking great! We greatly appreciate so many people giving up their time to help. Your efforts have made a real difference to the appearance of the area.#CommunityCleanUp #Southgate #DroghedaTidyTowns #VolunteerSpirit #KeepingSouthgateBeautiful #Teamwork #CommunityPride #louthvolunteercentre #meathcountycouncil ...
