About Us

Drogheda Tidy Towns was set up by local volunteers in 2007 to make Drogheda a better place to live, work, and visit. From the very beginning, our aim has been to create a cleaner, greener, and more welcoming town, encouraging pride in our community and working together to protect and enhance Drogheda for everyone.

In 2022, Drogheda Tidy Towns set out on an ambitious journey to create something truly special for our community. That year, we formed a dedicated subgroup to drive this vision forward.

Drogheda Tidy Towns remains steadfast in its commitment to protecting the Boyne River in any way possible, such as the Annual Boyne Clean-Up, undertook a biodiversity study of the Boyne Estuary, from which we produced a book and erected interpretative signage.

🌼 A Wonderful Saturday Morning at Oldbridge House! ☀️What a fantastic morning we had exploring the beautiful wildflower meadow at Oldbridge House in glorious sunshine.A huge thank you to Linda Gilsenan, our wonderful ecologist, for sharing her knowledge and passion for our native wildflowers, grasses, insects and the importance of creating spaces where nature can thrive. Everyone came away having learned something new and with a greater appreciation of the biodiversity on our doorstep. It was great to see so many people joining us for the walk, asking questions, sharing observations, and enjoying the meadow in full bloom. Events like these remind us how valuable our local green spaces are for both wildlife and our community. Many thanks to everyone who attended and to all who helped make the morning such a success. This event was organised by Drogheda Tidy Towns with the support of the Community Foundation Ireland and the OPW.🌼 Keep an eye on our page for more walks, talks and community events celebrating nature in Drogheda!# Biodiversity #droghedatidytowns #communityfoundationireland #OPW #meadowwalk ...
