About Us

Drogheda Tidy Towns was set up by local volunteers in 2007 to make Drogheda a better place to live, work, and visit. From the very beginning, our aim has been to create a cleaner, greener, and more welcoming town, encouraging pride in our community and working together to protect and enhance Drogheda for everyone.

In 2022, Drogheda Tidy Towns set out on an ambitious journey to create something truly special for our community. That year, we formed a dedicated subgroup to drive this vision forward.

Our River ‘The Boyne’

Drogheda Tidy Towns remains steadfast in its commitment to protecting the Boyne River in any way possible, such as the Annual Boyne Clean-Up, undertook a biodiversity study of the Boyne Estuary, from which we produced a book and erected interpretative signage.

🌳 A huge thank you to Mell NS and their fantastic 5th Class pupils who prepared and planted this native tree nursery with us this week 🌳This is one of the projects being delivered as part of our 2025 Biodiversity Action Plans, supported by funding from Community Foundation Ireland and the National Parks & Wildlife Service. The tree nursery will help us grow native trees for future biodiversity projects, while giving local children a hands-on opportunity to learn about nature, sustainability, and the importance of protecting our local environment. We look forward to continuing to work with schools, residents, community groups, and volunteers on planting and biodiversity initiatives throughout the year. 🌱💚#DroghedaTidyTowns #Biodiversity #CommunityFoundationIreland #NPWS #NativeTrees #MellNS #sustainability #drogheda #Louthbiodiversity #Louthcountycouncil ... 🌿 A huge thank you to everyone who came out yesterday evening to support the Dominican Church Clean Up!There was lots of great work happening all around the church grounds, and the difference is really noticeable. We can now see the wonderful blooming shrubs that had been suppressed over the last few years, and the gardens are slowly becoming manageable again. 🌸🌱A great community spirit. Your time, effort, and hard work are truly appreciated.#indianfamilyassociation #drogheda #Hands4Unity #droghedatidytowns #dominicanchurchdrogheda #cleanup #volunteers #workingtogether ... Earlier this year, we planted one of the 6 Drogheda Stepping Stone Forests in Rosevale and it’s already bursting into life 🌱🌼The wildflowers and buttercups are creating a fantastic splash of colour, while young saplings are now beginning to leaf out beautifully. Even in these early months, the site is showing how quickly nature responds when given the chance. These spaces are about so much more than trees, they help support pollinators, improve biodiversity, create habitat corridors, and bring a little more nature into our communities 🐝🌳A huge thank you to everyone involved in planting and caring for this site so far. It’s wonderful to see the Stepping Forest taking root and thriving 💚#SteppingForest #Biodiversity #NatureRecovery #Pollinators #CommunityPlanting #Rosevale #Wildflowers #ClimateAction #Amazon #drogheda #droghedatidytowns ...
