About Us

Drogheda Tidy Towns was set up by local volunteers in 2007 to make Drogheda a better place to live, work, and visit. From the very beginning, our aim has been to create a cleaner, greener, and more welcoming town, encouraging pride in our community and working together to protect and enhance Drogheda for everyone.

In 2022, Drogheda Tidy Towns set out on an ambitious journey to create something truly special for our community. That year, we formed a dedicated subgroup to drive this vision forward.

Our River ‘The Boyne’

Drogheda Tidy Towns remains steadfast in its commitment to protecting the Boyne River in any way possible, such as the Annual Boyne Clean-Up, undertook a biodiversity study of the Boyne Estuary, from which we produced a book and erected interpretative signage.

TidyTowns is a great way for civic spirited people in Drogheda to come together, to harness their ideas and energy and to help make a real difference!

We were in McArdle Green, Moneymore, today putting in place the ground preparations for another Drogheda Stepping Stone Forest. 🌱A big thank you to the team from Amazon, providing much needed help. Stewart from P. Caffrey delivered the mulch and thanks to his smart use of grabbers really made our work in spreading it so much easier The day was made all the more enjoyable with the lovely refreshments and cakes provided by the Community Group, very much appreciated by everyone involved. After a year of training in 2025 with John and Caragh, it was rewarding to be able to put it all into practice as a local team. Thanks to you bothWe’re looking forward to returning later in the year to plant and build something special for the community. 💚#moneymore #drogheda #amazoninthecommunities#droghedatidytowns#Connectfamilyresourcecentre#biodiversity#SteppingStoneForests ... A big thank you to all who were out on Tuesday evening continuing the great work in maintaining the Dominican Church garden and grounds, as well as doing a big tidy-up of the Southgate roundabout paths, and verges 👏Just an hour or two makes a huge difference, and it really shows in both of these areas. They need some attention, so please keep an eye out for more such activities and dates. Our next event is the Boyne Estuary clean-up this Sunday, May 10th. We’ll be meeting at Queensborough car park on the Baltray Road at 10am. Waterproof shoes or wellingtons are recommended!Hope to see you there 🌿#CommunityCleanup #DroghedaTidyTowns #indianfamilyassociation #Hands4unity #Volunteer #tidytownscleanup #Adoptanarra #Dominicanchurchdrogheda #Southgate #BoyneEstuary #louthcouncil #meathcouncil ... A lovely occasion this morning as we presented Donal Lucey with our first Drogheda Tidy Towns Clean & Litter‑Free Community Award. No one could be more deserving of this award than Donal. In some small way, it hopefully recognises the tremendous work Donal has done for so many years in taking care of the Dublin road area.Seldom, will you pass and not see Donal out along this route, keeping the area litter‑free, mowing grass, weeding, planting, tending the beds, painting the gates and railings and much more. He is a fantastic example to us all. This award was created to acknowledge exactly this kind of community pride, and commitment. Well, done Donal and lovely to share this occasion with your family and some of your fellow Dublin road residents today.#Dublinroaddrogheda #drogheda #droghedatidytowns #communitychampion #volunteer #Louth ... See flyer for a clean‑up at the Dominican Church on this coming Tuesday evening - May 5th @ 6.30pm. Since taking on the overgrown garden in 2025, volunteers from the Indian Family Association, Hands4Unity and Drogheda Tidy Towns helped by Our Friends from Bully’s acre, The Council and the wider community, have done a big clean up of the grounds and garden area and even planted some fruit trees and tomatoes . A nice chance now to continue and expand on that work - all are very welcome to join.#hands4unity #indianfamilyassociation #drogheda #louthcountycouncil #Friendsofbullysacredrogheda #dominicanchurch #DroghedaTidyTowns ...
