About Us

Drogheda Tidy Towns was set up by local volunteers in 2007 to make Drogheda a better place to live, work, and visit. From the very beginning, our aim has been to create a cleaner, greener, and more welcoming town, encouraging pride in our community and working together to protect and enhance Drogheda for everyone.

In 2022, Drogheda Tidy Towns set out on an ambitious journey to create something truly special for our community. That year, we formed a dedicated subgroup to drive this vision forward.

Drogheda Tidy Towns remains steadfast in its commitment to protecting the Boyne River in any way possible, such as the Annual Boyne Clean-Up, undertook a biodiversity study of the Boyne Estuary, from which we produced a book and erected interpretative signage.

🌿 A Fantastic Community Effort on Dublin Road! Last Saturday evening , residents from the Dublin Road and St. Mary's Villas, came together to tackle the overgrown vegetation along the wall opposite the entrance to Drogheda Railway Station. The transformation was remarkable. See the before and after pics. What started as a heavily overgrown stretch was cleared back to reveal the stone wall beneath and greatly improve the appearance of this area.An incredible 50+ bags of ivy, weeds and cuttings were collected, all of which were removed on Sunday morning thanks to the council.A huge well done to everyone who gave their time and helped out.#dublinroaddroghedag#stmarysvillasi#CommunitySpiritp#tidytownsT#droghedag#volunteeringe#LouthCountyCounciluncil ... Great to see Drogheda moving up in the latest IBAL Anti-Litter League results and now rated Clean to European Norms. πŸ‘Thanks to everyone who has made this happen, including the Council, TUS, community groups, residents, businesses and the many volunteers who support local clean-ups throughout the year. There are still a few recurring problem areas that need attention, but this result shows what can be achieved when people work together.
