Poorhouse Lane Drogheda Is Not A Bin!

A little lunch cleanup today by one of our Adopt An Area volunteers and committee members turned out to be more than a little lunchtime cleanup.

5 bags of litter were collected with 3 of these bags being someone’s household waste. It was clear that someone has been illegally dumping here for a while which has become more visible over the winter months. Don’t get me wrong they also dumped their rubish from last week as I found a Leap Card receipt in one of the bags.

We took some before and after pictures:

If you notice illegal dumping, you can report it to the local authority, which can then investigate and take action. Alternatively, you can report it to the 24-hour National Environmental Complaints Line – see ‘Further information’ below. The complaints line will pass your report to the local authority, the Garda Síochána or the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), as appropriate. The EPA website provides more information on how to make an environmental complaint.

We are always on the lookout for new volunteers. If you are interested in getting involved with Drogheda Tidy Towns, please register your interest here.
