Drogheda Tidy Towns are delighted to be working with Tony Conaghy who has produced a fantastic book showing the incredible biodiversity in the old Cement Quarry.
The beautiful wild flower meadows and water areas are home to an unbelievable range of wildlife, flora and fauna.
The aim of this study is to explore and record the biodiversity within the old cement quarry to the north of Drogheda, Co Louth. The time frame of this study was from April to October in 2023.
Deputy Mayor Kevin Callan tabled a motion at a council meeting to have the Quarry site considered for designation as a special protected area of conservation.
