You’ve arrived at the start of Old Quarry Way, a 5km loop walk around Drogheda’s historic Old Cement Quarry. Named by the 2024 6th class pupils of Mell National School, this route offers a glimpse into a once-industrial site that has now become a thriving haven for wildlife and biodiversity.
Along the trail, you’ll find wayfinding markers at every kilometre, each featuring a QR code that unlocks fascinating insights into the history, geology, and nature of this unique landscape. Don’t forget to check out the tracing plates on each post—bring some paper and crayons to capture the designs along the way!
Explore, discover, and enjoy the journey through this remarkable natural space.
